Ashley Cole burgled while playing for England

Ashley Cole's £350,000 flat was burgled on Friday night - while he was playing for England.

Cheryl Cole's ex-husband found the apartment in Esher, Surrey, ransacked after returning home on Saturday and the break-in was reported at 6pm.

Ashley, 29, had spent the previous night at a hotel with his England teammates following their 4-0 victory over Bulgariaat Wembley. 

'We can confirm we are investigating a break-in,' a police spokesperson tells the Daily Mirror. 

Officers have refused to comment on what was stolen during the raid. 

Cheryl split from Ashley in February following allegations he cheated on her with a string of women. 

The Girls Aloud star, 27, was granted a divorce from the Chelsea footballer on Friday.
